Soimise Verdieu, FNP-C

Cambridge Health Alliance

Cambridge, MA

Soimise was born in a small town in Haiti and is the youngest of 14 children. Her family migrated to the Boston area when she was 11 years older. Her parents had one goal; to raise strong, intelligent, and independent adults. Her parents instilled in their children the power of having a voice, not only for themselves but for the betterment of others who may be disenfranchised or powerless. Early in her life, Soimise decided to use that voice not only to benefit her life and those in her immediate circle but also to those in her surrounding communities. She made a conscious decision to become a nurse practitioner, a profession that gives her direct access to others and allows her to give back to the community. She strongly believes in helping those in need with sincerity, compassion, and foresight. Nursing gives her an outlet to use her voice to speak with compassion as a Primary Care Provider.

She is currently a Ph.D. nursing student, finishing her dissertation proposal on the lived experience of African-American women self-managing hypertension. A large portion of the research study focuses on health disparities and the impact on the population of women. In her non-school/working time, Soimise enjoys hiking, dancing, and spending time with her husband, two handsome boys (Samuel and Jaythan), and their cat, OC (AKA “orange cat”).
