Galina Tan, MD

Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School

Cambridge, MA

Galina currently practices Internal Medicine as a primary care physician at Cambridge Health Alliance, which has been her medical and professional home since 2013 when she started her residency training. She chose to continue her practice at CHA because of its commitment to primary care and its mission to serve a socioeconomically and culturally diverse patient community. She currently spends most of her time practicing clinical medicine, but also teaches medical students/residents and participate in various quality improvement and innovation projects. Galina’s role and privilege as a physician with a panel of nearly 1000 patients (and counting) allows her to observe the inextricable intersection of health with the various social and economic factors such as housing, employment, public safety, education, and childhood experiences. This has driven her to stay involved with CHA’s local Social Justice Coalition community as well as other advocacy groups, which has allowed her to use some of her clinical experiences to help advocate for issues. In her free time, Galina enjoys tennis, going on long walks/short runs, cooking, pottery, and connecting with family/friends. Galina is very much looking forward to learning from her co-fellows and faculty during the CHEEA program!
