Anshika Hansen-Verma, LICSW, is a Clinical Social Worker and the Team Leader of the Asian Mental Health Program at Cambridge Health Alliance. She is also a psychotherapist in private practice specializing in multicultural counseling, trauma-informed practice and identity development. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings through her career, providing support to adolescents and adults around interpersonal trauma, substance use and emerging psychosis. Working in a community mental health agency, she has witnessed directly the disproportionate impact of financial insecurity, systemic inequities and immigration policies on first- and second-generation immigrants. She is passionate about addressing systemic barriers for access to treatment for marginalized communities, and challenging various systems of oppression in both her personal and professional life. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Boston College.
